This performance feature takes a standard RLX safety feature, Vehicle Stability Assist, and uses it proactively to improve control. Agile Handling Assist is designed to brake individual wheels and counteract oversteer or understeer, sending you out of a curve with plenty of acceleration and power.

Enjoy the convenience and control of manual shifting with the smooth gear changes and fuel economy of an automatic transmission with the RLX’s standard paddle shifters. With multiple engine profiles and gear changes with just the slightest motion of your hands, the RLX transmission offers a level of control that makes it fit for the track.

Acura’s exclusive LED headlights do more than offer a bright white light to show you the road ahead. The lenses designed to focus those LED lights are made to glitter like jewels, giving the RLX an elegant look even when it’s just sunlight reflecting off the headlights.
You’ll be hard-pressed to spot the rear camera on the RLX, but each model has one. Just shift into reverse and the camera will project onto the in-dash display. Take advantage of the available surround-view 360-degree camera for added peace of mind when leaving a parking spot.
Push a button and the RLX memory settings engage, sending the power side mirrors back to the exact position you prefer. Shift into reverse and these mirrors will tilt down to offer a better look at what could be behind your car, and they fold out of the way with ease if you need to fit into a tight parking spot or garage.
The infotainment features of the 2016 Acura RLX alone would require dozens of buttons on a normal car. Acura streamlined their console design with the On-Demand Multi-Use Display, a touchscreen with nine variable buttons that change function based on what you need, when you need it. The result is an infotainment interface that is as elegant to use as the RLX is to look at.
The RLX is a smart car, and it knows when your key fob is nearby. The standard Keyless Access System detects your keys and allows you to unlock the door just by grabbing the handle. Then just sit in the driver’s seat, buckle your seat belt, and press the “start” button, never fumbling for your keys again.
In addition to standard tri-zone automatic climate control, the RLX features a GPS-linked climate system. This GPS connection tracks the position of the sun and accounts for the added warmth of the sun’s rays when accounting separately for the climate settings for the driver, front passenger, and rear passengers.
Standard voice recognition software allows the RLX to respond to hundreds of different commands, letting you manage media, adjust climate settings, and program a new location into the satellite-linked navigation system without ever taking your hands off the wheel.
Grammy Award–winning sound engineer Elliot Scheiner worked with Acura to develop an audio system that brings the fidelity of the studio to the auto world. The RLX has a 14-speaker ELS Studio Premium Audio system as standard, featuring four rear speakers specifically designed to ensure all passengers have an exciting listening experience.
Since the RLX includes the Technology Package as standard, you should expect state-of-the-art connectivity. Bluetooth phone and audio sync your smartphone with the RLX for hands-free calls as well as SMS texting and e-mail integration. With AcuraLink telematics, you can even schedule auto service or unlock the RLX with just a few taps on the smartphone app.
This safety feature can know if the RLX is drifting from its lane by monitoring the markings on the pavement. If it senses a drift and detects no turn signal, Lane Keeping Assist will warn the driver and give the wheel a nudge to keep it centered in its lane.
Cruise control has made long highway drives that much easier, giving your foot a rest and letting you focus on the road. Adaptive Cruise Control takes that feature and adds a radar sensor that tracks the speeds of surrounding vehicles so the RLX can automatically adjust cruising speeds to keep pace.
With Road Departure Mitigation, the RLX is engineered to only leave the pavement if it’s where you want to go. Tracking the objects and markings on the side of the road, this system will issue audio and visual warnings if it senses you nearing the shoulder, using the RLX’s active steering and autonomous braking systems to keep the car on the road.
The radar systems on the RLX do more than help with cruising speeds; they can detect if you’re likely to have a frontal collision with another vehicle. If this system detects a possible collision, it issues a warning and can apply the brakes to slow or stop the RLX and mitigate any damage.
Driving with under-inflated tires can cause unpredictable performance and put extra wear on the sidewall, increasing the likelihood of a blowout. The Tire Pressure Monitoring System alerts you when any tires have less than 75% of their necessary pressure so you can check them for leaks and re-inflate.
By monitoring individual wheel speeds, lateral G-forces, and steering wheel position, Vehicle Stability Assist detects if you have over- or understeered. If it senses either condition, engine output can be adjusted and the brakes can be applied to keep your car stable and under control.
